Hope through sufferance.
That was our fortitude of soul.
Tesco value potatoes & onions with rice & lentils. Chillies.
Feeling the burn & being alive.
If we turn our backs to our emotions to be secure, we become slaves.
Or would you rather feel?
Daring to dream of meeting your hearts longing.
Touching the centre of your own sorrow.
Being opened up by lifes betrayals, not shriveled and closed from fear and further pain.
Sitting with pain without moving to hide it, fade it, or fix it.
Dancing with the wilderness, letting ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning to forget the limitations of being human.
Bearing the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
Seeing beauty even when its not pretty every day, sourcing your own life from its presence.
Living with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon "Yes".
Getting up after the night of grief & despair, weary & bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
Standing in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
What sustains you from the inside when all else falls away?
